In the late 1970s, while San Diego clubs chased disco covers and safe routines, The Original Dexters were creating something wild, emotional, and ahead of its time. Formed in 1978 by brothers Nick and Rick Gadler, alongside Chet Urata, Spinner Chenelle, David West, and Andy Grossberg, the band wrote over fifty all-original songs that pulsed with the grit, fire, and fearless honesty that would define grunge a decade later.

 

They never played covers. They never followed trends. Every member carved a distinct sound that fused into the unmistakable Dexters style — a raw, melodic, electrifying energy that felt like the future long before the world caught up.
